Team Members


Tom Padgett………founded the company in 1984 and has overseen the construction and remodeling of over 400 homes.  Tom has a degree from the University of Kentucky and prior to the formation of Padgett Construction held several administrative positions at UK including Assistant to the President, Acting Director of Personnel, and Director of Public Safety.  Tom has been very actively involved in the Lexington community serving on numerous boards including Commerce Lexington, Junior Achievement, YMCA, and is past president of God’s Pantry Food Bank.

Vice President and Partner

Chris Peoples………has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky in business administration and has been with Padgett Construction for over twenty years.  His experience and expertise in managing residential construction projects is unmatched in Central Kentucky.  Chris plays an active role in his neighborhood association and provides leadership in the Lexington Aquatics organization.

Secretary/Treasurer and Partner

Greg Padgett………has a bachelors degree in Construction Management from Auburn University and was a project manager for Gray Construction after college. Greg brings an extensive background in systems for construction as well as technical expertise.  His construction knowledge combined with his “people skills” has provided a perfect match with residential building.  He has been very active in the community and on the boards of Fayette Alliance, McConnell Springs, Fayette County Rural Land Management and is a graduate of Leadership Lexington.

Office Manager

Karen Ward………manages all financial aspects of the company and is considered by clients as their lifeline to any maintenance or repair work that may arise once projects are completed. Karen joined the Padgett team twenty-five years ago, with prior experience as a financial manager in the hospitality industry. She is very active in civic affairs, serving on the boards of NAMI and Karen is also a member of the finance council of her church. She attended Eastern Kentucky University with B.A. directed studies in Accounting and English.

Project Manager and Chief Estimator

Kent Miller………has a bachelors degree in Construction Management from Eastern Kentucky University and has continued his education with numerous classes and training in construction safety and estimating.  Kent has been with our company since 2004 and previously worked for a large custom home building company in south Florida, prior to spending three years in the banking industry.  In addition to his finely tuned project management skills he is charged with keeping the company on top of best practices in the pricing and procurement of labor and materials.  Kent has been nominated as one of the “Top 40 Industry Professionals” under 40 years old in the U.S.

Project Manager

Bill Dimon……has been with Padgett Construction for eleven years, prior to which he managed Congleton Lumber Co. and was known throughout the Lexington area as it’s foremost authority on all things related to lumber and finish materials.  Bill also has a degree from the University of Kentucky.   In addition to project management, he provides an invaluable addition to our company in the design of finishes related to trim, millwork and cabinetry and has an eye for perfecting finish details.  Bill is also president of his condominium association.

Accounting Specialist

Pam Martinolich……coordinates accounts payable. Her administrative experience is in the thoroughbred industry. She remain active in the horse world and is currently the treasurer for Spokes and Spurs, the local carriage driving club.


Brett Hunsucker………has a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Eastern Kentucky University.  His experience has been in commercial contracting in Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and Lexington (Messer Construction).  He has been with Padgett Construction since December 2012.

Student Intern

Gregory Duncan………is currently working on finishing his bachelor’s degree in Construction Management at Eastern Kentucky University. Greg works with the project managers estimating, scheduling, and managing job-sites. He has played a large role in helping design the website and maintains other online Padgett applications.
